There are several different ways to enter Screenplay Festival. In order to complete entry into Screenplay Festival, you need to submit the following three items:

  • Completed Entry Form
  • Copy of your screenplay
  • Entry fee payment

For your convenience, you can submit any of the three items listed above in several ways. Please note that you can send your script and entry form together or separately.  For example, the script can be sent as an email attachment and the entry form mailed or faxed.

  • Entry Form - choose among the following:
    • Send the entry form via mail/fax/email by filling out the Printable Entry Form, printing it, signing it, and then mailing/faxing it in. Or you can open the Screenplay Festival Brochure, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, print it, fill it out, sign it and mail/fax/email it in.  To send an entry form by email, you must scan a signed form.  We must have your signature.
    • Send the entry form via email by filling out the Printable Entry Form, printing it, signing it, and then use a scanner to create a picture file of it that you can send as an attachment to info@screenplayfestival.com.  Be sure to provide your name and the script title in your email.

      • We recommend that you name your script's computer file with your first name, last name, and script title (shortened if necessary). For example, John Smith's screenplay, "Great Script" written in Final Draft would be best sent with the file name, "john_smith_Great_Script.fdr".
    • Before submitting your screenplay to anyone, register it with the Writer's Guild of America. If you need to learn more about registering your script, please visit the WGA Registration Service. Screenplay Festival does not require registration, we simply recommend it.

"Screenplay Festival has sent me over a dozen producers interested in Screenplay Festival winners and honorable mentions. Two years later and they are still passing producers on to me. Amazing!"

Steve Lyons, First Casualty
Honorable Mention Winner, 2007

"Screenplay Festival works hard at getting scripts circulated to top production companies and agencies. I’ve had several requests from companies asking to read my work. I highly recommend this competition."

Deborah Baxtrom, IMPS
Honorable Mention Winner, 2006

"Being named a Drama Honorable Mention in Screenplay Festival has netted me more action than any other contest my script won or placed in. The referrals just keep coming in over a year after the contest, the latest just today."

Steve Z., Northern Latitude
Honorable Mention Winner, 2005

"While the Screenplay Festival win is in itself no guarantee of success, it has lent credibility to GOLGOTHA and has played a big part in getting it in to the development executives of over thirty-five of the most established film production companies in Los Angeles, New York and Paris."

Glen Treilhard, Golgotha
Honorable Mention Winner, 2006

"As a result of my placement in Screenplay Festival, I’ve received several leads from solid producers. And they’ve kept coming. I would also recommend this contest because they have categories for different genres and award prizes in each of those categories. Screenplay Festival gives screenplays of any genre a fair shot."

Larry Postel, X-Mas Files
Honorable Mention Winner, 2005

"Since winning Screenplay Festival's Thriller/Horror Grand Prize, I've received so many requests for my script...it's scary! I've always been wary of most of the screenplay contests out there, but Screenplay Festival was definitely worth submitting to."

Tony Sago, Lighthouse
Grand Prize Winner, 2004
